Tech sales jobs this week: Oct 22, 2026

We counted 113 new US sales roles, up 35 from last week after back-to-back drops. Toast posted 33 and Samsara 24, almost all AE seats. If you carry a bag, move fast this week. If you are an SE or SDR, there is not much to pick from.

This week's read

The jump is real and not just the extra boards. We tracked 162 boards against 154 last week, and the posting rate per board still went up. Fewer companies did the posting, though: 31 this week against 34. Our read is that a few big posters did the lifting while everyone else stayed about as quiet as before.

Toast alone is 29% of new roles. Without Toast, AE is still 61% of the mix, CS is 16% and SE is 9%. SE was 19% of last week's mix, so that drop holds up even with Toast removed. Samsara's 23 AE postings sit inside that 61%. So the AE surge comes from Toast and Samsara and does not run across the whole market.

Strategic showed up in 29 new titles and enterprise in 22, while SMB showed up in 10. In our view that means more closer seats with bigger deals behind them. The stale share has not moved. 59% of open roles were posted 45+ days ago, the same as last week, so the new postings are where your time pays off.

Account Executive

There are 81 new AE roles this week. Toast posted 32 and Samsara 23. Stripe added 7, including a Velocity Platforms hunter seat in New York. Across all new titles, strategic and enterprise show up far more often than SMB, so open with the biggest deals you have closed.

Customer success & account management

13 new CS and account management roles, spread out so that no company posted more than 2. Anthropic and Culture Amp posted 2 each. Checkr's Staff CSM in San Francisco went up Oct 20, and LaunchDarkly's remote West Coast Senior CSM went up Oct 19.

Solutions & sales engineering

Only 8 SE roles this week, and SE fell from 19% of the mix to 7%. Databricks and Grafana Labs posted 2 each. Sigma Computing's Enterprise Solution Engineer and Socure's Senior Solution Consultant, Payments are both remote US roles posted Oct 20.

SDR / BDR (entry level)

5 SDR and BDR postings, 1 each from Drata, LaunchDarkly, Snowflake, Mach9 and Vanta. That sample is too small to call a trend in either direction. Drata's Emerging SDR seat is hybrid in San Diego and went up Oct 20.

Who's hiring

Toast topped our list again: 33 roles after 11 last week, and 32 of them are AE. Samsara posted 24, 23 of them AE, and was not in last week's top 3. Databricks posted 7 for the second week in a row, 5 AE and 2 SE. All 7 of Stripe's roles were AE, and so were all 4 of Braze's. Anthropic was the only top hirer with no AE roles, posting 2 CS and 1 other sales.

What to do this week

  1. Apply to Samsara's AE openings this week and message the sales leader each role reports to on the same day. Samsara posted 23 AE roles and was not a top hirer last week.
  2. Watch Toast's board daily and apply the day a territory near you opens. Toast posted 32 AE roles in a week, including an SMB territory seat in Wilmington, DE that went up Oct 21.
  3. Add remote US postings to your search if you are an SE. Only 8 SE roles went up, and Sigma Computing and Socure both posted remote ones on Oct 20.
  4. Apply to all 5 SDR postings that fit you, at Drata, LaunchDarkly, Snowflake, Mach9 and Vanta. Then reach the sales leader each one reports to. With this few openings, skipping one costs you.
